Welcome to our new Studio Management team!

We are delighted to announce our new studio team and welcome Tom Avison (pictured left) and Paul de Carvalho (pictured right) to their new positions. We also welcome Catherine Hall as our new Marketing & PR Executive.

Tom Avison has been announced as Head of Studios, with responsibility for overall management and a lead on strategic direction for the facility. Tom Avison, who moved into the role from the 1st January, has been at 3 Mills Studios for over 3 years and has more than 12 years’ experience in the industry from production, with UK independent features and TV dramas, to marketing and events within the exhibition sector. He brings an excellent understanding of production demands across Film, TV and Theatre industries.

Joining 3 Mills in 2011 to provide maternity cover for the Marketing Manager, Tom was then appointed Head of Sales in October 2013, he went on to oversee the Sales team during the Studio’s most successful year in 2014/15, with record revenue and occupation levels; which included high end TV drama productions The Royals, Jekyll & Hyde, The Enfield Haunting as well as securing the occupation of Masterchef and the return of The Million Pound Drop.

Tom Avison says “I am delighted to be taking over management of 3 Mills Studios at such an exciting, dynamic time for us and for the industry as a whole. 3 Mills is a unique facility within the UK and we are firmly establishing ourselves as the creative centre for people across the Film, TV and Theatrical worlds, both nationally and internationally. We are a Studio quite unlike any other in this country and this is something which is clearly valued very highly in what is becoming an increasingly crowded and competitive market. ”

Paul de Carvalho, an award-winning international marketing, communications and management executive, joins as Head of Sales and Marketing. He will take responsibility for generating sales and new business opportunities across the company as a whole, as well as overseeing marketing, client and industry relationships and developing sales strategies for the business. De Carvalho brings with him a wealth of experience from over 15 years in the media and entertainment industries, including roles with 20th Century Fox and Screen New South Wales.

Tom Avison says “We brought Paul in specifically because of his depth and breadth of experience and his understanding of the key issues facing the industry at the moment. His abilities complement the strengths of the existing Studios’ team and ensure that we will continue to deliver a production experience which sets 3 Mills apart.”

Paul de Carvalho says; “I am very excited to be joining 3 Mills Studio to help continue to build on the fantastic facility we have on offer here. With an increasing number of high end productions seeking studio space in London, at 3 Mills we have the facilities, attitude and atmosphere to ensure our clients create outstanding results.”

Tom Avison adds “It is a very inspiring time to be working at 3 Mills right now and in addition to recent additions to the team, we are looking forward to announcing new partnerships in the coming months.”
