London Film Festival’s 68th Screen Talk Line Up – 3 Mills Features!
Yesterday the speakers for London Film Festival’s 68th Screen Talk were announced and 3 Mills are very happy to see some familiar faces on the line up!
This years industry speakers include;
Steve McQueen, who was on location at 3 Mills at the end of 2023 filming pick-ups for ‘Blitz’. ‘Blitz’, which will be opening at LFF this year, follows the stories of a group of Londoners during the events of World War II.
Daniel Kaluuya shot ‘The Kitchen’ (available on Netflix) at 3 Mills in 2022 for his directorial debut. ‘The Kitchen’ is a view on life between the rich and poor in London in the future, looking at all aspects of life, from having basic resources to the ability to afford burying loved ones.
Director Andrea Arnold’s Award-winning film ‘Fish Tank’ filmed some scenes at 3 Mills in 2008 – ‘Fish Tank’ shows the life of a rebellious 15-year-old girl (Mia), neglected by her mother. When Mia is introduced to her mother’s new boyfriend, he encourages Mia to follow her dreams of becoming a dancer.
Mike Leigh, director of the period drama ‘Topsy-Turvy’, which shot at 3 Mills in 1998. ‘Topsy–Turvy’ tells the story of musical duo Gilbert and Sullivan in the lead up to the premiere of ‘The Mikado’ at the Savoy Theatre in 1885, showing the creative conflict between the two on their road to ‘fame and riches’.
3 Mills has provided a stage for world–class film and TV for over 30 years and we are proud to have been the home for such talent.
